From the recording In My Garden
I had a "dream" one night that I was walking in a beautiful rose garden, surrounded by an assortment of angelic statues. In this dream I felt I was being watched, and I also had a feeling of despair and sadness in my heart. Then a presence seemed to surround me and filled me with such a feeling of love, that the sadness melted away. When I woke up the next morning, my heart was so happy and I could swear I smelled the roses in my bed. The lyrics came immediately. A few weeks later, Joseph was playing some beautiful new music on the piano and I found the lyrics I had written and started to sing with him. They fit perfectly. We both felt this was a lovely gift and a very special song. Talented harpist Peter Sterling graciously agreed to play his harp on this song, which enhances our beautiful creation in just the right, angelic way.
In My Garden
I was walking there, by the roses fairYou were watching me, eyes so tenderlyFor a moment then, I remembered whenYou first came to me in my gardenWhispers in the air, moonlight on your hairThe beauty of your face kissed me with its graceThen you touched my heart, saved me from the darkWhen you came to me in my gardenYou hold me in my dreams, and when your angel wingsTake me where I go, love is all I knowI was walking there, by the roses fairYou were watching me, eyes so tenderlyFor a moment then, I remembered whenYou gave love to me in my garden
